• We work as quickly and unobtrusively as possible, so that you and your guests can feel relaxed.  While your photography is important to you, there's nothing worse than a wedding photographer who dominates your day.
• We love and take a pride in our work. Our aim is to give you not only photographic coverage of your wedding but also artistic, natural images that you'll genuinely love.

FAQs

Where are you based?

We're often asked where we're based and put simply, we work from our home in Aughton, near Ormskirk.  A more thorough answer is that we're mobile, visiting couples in their own homes and travelling throughout the North West.  We frequently shoot weddings in Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire, Wirral, Lancashire and Merseyside, and sometimes go further afield into the Lake District, Scotland, Yorkshire, the Midlands and Southern England.  We're also available to photograph weddings abroad, for which we can make special arrangements.  Please contact us if you'd like to know more about this.

How early do you start and how late do you leave?

We offer varying amounts of photographic coverage.  Some brides like informal images of their morning preparations, while others don't.  Some couples like their evening celebrations capturing, and some prefer us to leave before their wedding breakfast beings.  How long we stay is entirely up to you. 

How many photographs will you take?

Hundreds. 

You're a husband and wife team - do you always work together?

Not usually, although you can book both of us if we're available.  For most weddings, having two photographers is overkill - you'll have too many images to choose between and one of us will be in the background on at least two of them.  Having said this, if you want coverage from two separate locations at the same time, it's a good idea.

How do we choose our album photographs?

We give you proofs of all your images so that you can select your favourites at your own pace.  You can choose between an online gallery or or a low resolution CD of all your wedding photographs. 

What types of album do you use?

We offer a wide range of really stylish, high-quality wedding albums. Most of our albums hold at least 80 images, often more, and we can design these with you to include unusual features and layouts - some of our album designs are unlike any others we've seen to date.  Many couples also include parents' wallets and albums in with their package. 

Can we have a copyright-free disc of all our photographs?

Yes.  You can add this on as an extra.

Do you offer black and white and sepia images, or other colour finishes?

We produce a lot of black and white and sepia images.  These are particularly suited to our reportage wedding photography and creative wedding portraits and are available at no extra cost on any or all of your images.  We can also provide reduced-colour, and digitally-enhanced images.  These are available with all of our large framed prints. 

Will you do any retouching to the images?

Yes, we spend a lot of time on your images.  We can retouch your main wedding portraits to your liking, and will make basic adjustments to all of your photographs.  Unless you specify otherwise, we keep our digital work subtle.  Our view is that it should enhance your images rather than becoming the central attraction.

Do you offer framed prints?

Yes.  We have a large range of standard and multi-print frames.  These are really stunning - very high quality and some are quite unusual.  We can also produce montages, acrylic frames and canvases, and can cater to most requests for other display types.  If you're interested in these, please mention it when you contact us.  You'll also see a selection of them if you visit us at a wedding fair.

Do you offer pre-wedding portrait shoots?

Yes, we love doing these!  As well as being a fun experience that captures you being yourselves, a pre-wedding portrait session can really help you to feel at ease with being photographed prior to your wedding day. Most couples like to have a print from this session at their reception for guests to sign.

What are your prices?

Our prices generally range from £1,100 to £2,900, depending on the type of wedding album, photographic coverage and additional items that you choose.  Please do call or email us if you would like a copy of our brochure and price guide.

How do we book you?

A signed form and a retainer of 50% are needed to reserve your date for you.  We offer reduced retainers on our larger packages, and some couples choose to spread this over up to three months.  We don't think it's something you should rush into, but it's true that photographers take bookings up to two and a half years in advance.  Our advice is to take your time, but don't leave it too long!

I love your work but you're out of my budget.  What can I do?

Put us down on your wedding list and let your friends and family take care of some of it!  We'll send each contributor a certificate for the amount they give, and keep you updated on how much you've saved.  That's got to be better than another table lamp!
